O-Christmas & New Year’s Day

We usually spend the Saturday before Christmas with my family, but we were sick that day and didn’t make it down there until January 1st. So instead, we rolled our Christmas and New Year’s Day celebrations into one.

It was another great day with Hotda, Nana, and Kakya Andy. Boy, do they know how to spoil Renny. And Colin and me, too, of course. Not only with presents, which were in abundance, but with food as well. Lots and lots of delicious food.

One thing’s for sure: my dad can BAR-B-QUE! Colin and I decided that we need to have some sort of apprenticeship with Dad to learn his tricks for grilling meat to perfection. Sausages, steaks, pork chops, what have you… Make no mistake, the man can charbroil.

And it didn’t end there. Hotda’s famous potatoes were a huge hit and Andy’s request to serve Flourless Chocolate Cake was inspired. I ate enough for 2009 already. Oh mama was it good!

Thanks Mom, Dad, and Ange for a wonderful day. We love celebrating with you!
