A Day at Sea World

As part of our mega theme park extravaganza, we headed down to Sea World San Diego for a day.

We took in as much as possible, including the sunshine. Melissa got super sunburned. But, thankfully, we were able to ride the fake rapids and get soaked to cool off.

I love this picture. We were baking in the sun during the 30 minutes we were waiting for the Shamu show to start. Our faces tell it all. Warren was anxious to see the orca, skeptical it would ever start. Maddie was screaming and asking to be passed back and forth between me and Colin during the entire show, which she thought was too loud. Colin was weary from trying to keep both kids occupied. And I was hot and exasperated. It was still a good show.

We loved the sea animals and had a great time exploring. Currently, if you ask Warren what he wants to be when he grows up, he’ll tell you it’s an orca trainer. This adventure made his day.

  1. I love this picture too. A real, genuine, honest family vacation shot. It tells a great story. I’m also crazy about the picture of Maddie in the upper right of the collage. Gorgeous!

  2. Did you ride Escape from Atlantis or whatever that ride was? Hilarious. The world is in peril, you take a couple of turns, somehow it is saved… I’m still not really sure how that worked…
