On Memorial Day
We spent an absolutely perfect holiday with my pseudo-sister, Julianna, and her wonderful family. It was a day of relaxing, talking, and eating tons of good food. Danny barbequed some hot dogs and burgers, which we ate on pretzel buns– a first for me, but not the last. The food spread was so great we spent most of our time gathered around the counter munching away. I did not deny one request my kids made for food and, surprisingly, they never got a belly ache. They even had room for ice cream and s’mores later that evening.

But the highlight of the day was the homemade water slide that we rigged together using their brand new, amazing play structure. We may be saving our pretty pennies for a purchase like this soon. The kids could not get enough. It was great entertainment watching them slide down the tube and hit the tarp with a thump and a skid. No injuries made the activity even better.
...
Good memories were created this day, I can tell you. Just as Memorial Day should be.
