A few years back, I ran my first ever race, The Turkey Trot. This year, Warren was excited to give it a try so we signed up as a family. We bundled up the boys and borrowed another jogger from a friend so that Maddie could come along for the ride without getting winded. We had a good time achieving our goal to complete the event rain or shine. Luckily, the weather was our friend that morning: not too cold and actually dry.
Then we headed home to cook Thanksgiving dinner while unpacking from our recent move. Moving and preparing a large meal do not mix, but we made the most of our day and tried to remain grateful that we even had a house, despite the chaotic surroundings. Colin’s cousin, Ryan, spent the holiday with us and we ate well and talked late into the night.
It was a good day. One that allowed us to appreciate the blessings we’ve been so recently given.
